  • Each challenge has a specific devotional for that period. For example, during our Freedom Hike Challenge in July we will be studying Walking in Freedom.

For all challenges throughout the year, you will receive that year’s Walking Stick Medallion and T-shirt.

  • We have three remaining challenges for 2026. Complete one or all three. We know that life can be busy, so we don't want you to miss the opportunity.

    The Freedom Hike (Summer 2026) July 5, 2026 - August 3, 2026

    The Faith & Fire Hike (Fall 2026) September 1, 2026 - September 30, 2026

    The Hope Hike (Christmas Season) November 29, 2026 - January 6, 2027

  • Our hope is that we help people build a consistent prayer and Bible reading life.

The challenge will provide you with a daily devotional guide to be used throughout the challenge period to help strengthen your spiritual journey. We know that the more we do something intentionally and consistently over a period of time, the more likely it will become part of our daily life.

When it comes to your hike, we want to give you the flexibility to be able to plan. We know that it may take some time and coordination with weather or people to have a meaningful hike.

  • No. Complete the hike on a schedule that works for you.

We have designated community virtual hike days.

The Freedom Hike (Summer 2026): July 25, 2026

The Faith & Fire Hike (Fall 2026): September 19, 2026

The Hope Hike (Christmas Season): December 5, 2026

If you can’t complete the hike on those days, don’t worry – that’s why the challenge is over the course of a few weeks.

  • There is not a specific length to the hike to complete the challenge. You can do a day hike, an overnight hike, or anything in between.

  • Our challenge is for you to grab a friend or friends, find a trail, and get closer to Jesus through a hike. We can’t put a limit on fellowship. If you or your group would like to do more than one hike, do it!

If you do, make sure you share that with us. We’d love to hear from you in our online community!

  • First, ensure you’re challenging yourself with completing the devotionals each day.

We love anything outdoors. Throughout the challenge dates, we encourage you to go on neighborhood walks, bike rides, or runs. Do a devotional before going fishing, golfing, or playing pickleball with a group. Maybe even a few short hikes. While you’re out, reflect on God’s Word.

  • That’s up to you. We do want to encourage fellowship and community. There’s something special about being outdoors with others. We also know that sometimes it’s not that easy.

Either way, you always will have our online community. Whether you go on the hike alone or as a group, make sure to join and share with us your journey.

  • You’re in the right place! We invite you to take the challenge with us. It’s a great way to learn more about who Jesus is and how much he loves you.

  • This is why we started the Faith Hike Challenge! Its purpose is not only to strengthen your fellowship with other believers, but create an opportunity introduce Jesus to someone who doesn’t know Him yet in a different way.

  • No. It doesn’t cost anything to share the Good News with them. it’s free to everyone. Use the tools you have to create meaningful conversations, that’s most important.

Don’t forget that you also receive a second The Lord’s Prayer pocket card to give away.

  • The daily devotional challenge is for you. Complete the devotional challenge yourself and complete the hike portion with a buddy or group.

Don’t forget that you will have the hike day devotionals that you can complete by yourself or share with others.

  • Absolutely. We know that hikes may come with physical demands. If you prefer not to hike, we still invite you to be a part of our community and challenge. Either way, get outdoors and enjoy God’s creation.

  • That’s okay. The devotional guide will provide you with the scripture for the day.

You can also get a free Bible app from YouVersion in your app store.

  • There’s no right or wrong way. Complete the devotionals in a way that best makes sense – either alone or as a group. Don’t forget to use your resources. You may find that there is someone in your group that loves leading devotionals. Check out our guide for leading small group devotionals. There is something powerful about coming together and sharing testimonies and prayer requests.

Remember, the main purpose of the devotional is to spend time in the Word and in prayer.

  • Jump right in. You can start on Day 1 and keep going or start on the current day and come back to the ones you missed afterwards.

  • We are not able to accept shirt returns/exchanges. Our sizes are true fit and when in doubt, order a size up. Thank you for understanding.

  • There are some good resources here on our site that can help you get started on some local trails to consider.
