Devotion. Outdoors and in community.
The purpose of the Faith Hike Challenge is simple: to challenge us to find and strengthen our faith through living a lifestyle shaped by prayer, Scripture, and sharing Jesus’ love.
Faith Hike Challenge.
The Reason for the
Jesus hiked. Well, not like we know it today with all the modern gear. But Jesus traveled by foot, a lot. Many important events in the Bible involved travel by foot or treks. Moses ascended to Mount Sinai, Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem, and Jesus journeyed to Jerusalem for Passover. Scripture also tells us that Jesus often retreated to the mountain or to the garden to be with the Father.
It’s fair to say that hiking was common back then as it was how people traveled. Today, we can use it as a vehicle to strengthen our faith. There is something spiritual about being outdoors, in God’s vast creation, and connecting with Him there.
How the challenge works.
🙏🏼 Get started. Join a Faith Hike challenge. Currently there are three remaining challenges this year.

🥾 Go on a hike. On one of the days throughout the challenge period, get outdoors. You can do this individually or with a family member, friend, neighbor, or even small group. Go on your favorite trail or explore a new one. Hike for an hour, a day, overnight - or anything in between.
Not able hike? Take a walk in your neighborhood or local park.
We know that life can be busy. Choose a day that works best for you.

The Faith & Fire Hike (Fall 2026): September 19, 2026
The Hope Hike (Christmas Season): December 5, 2026

Having others join you? Make sure to share with them where than get their own Faith Hike Challenge gear.
❤️ Share Jesus’s love. Invite someone on your hike, whether they know Jesus or not. You may know someone who is hesitant to come to your church, but they wouldn’t mind spending time with you on a trail. Use your Faith Hike as a way to talk with them, pray over them, and introduce them to Jesus!
📖 Complete the hike day devotionals. On your hike day, there are two devotionals specifically designed for that day. Complete one at the start of your day or start of your hike. Complete the other devotional mid-hike, at the end, or at the end of the day. Their purpose is to help you prepare for, and reflect on, your Faith Hike.
Complete the devotional individually or as a group. There is no right or wrong way, make it pressure-free.

🧭 Share your journey. Throughout the challenge, whether it’s a devotional day or a hike day, share your prayer requests, thoughts, or experiences with our online hiking community. We want to hear from you. Jesus tells us that, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I with them.”
